The Ancestral Threads section features a series of fabrics that document histories. Among them, the Colonial Weaves showcased in this exhibition reflect a specific period during British colonial rule in Cyprus (1878–1960). During this time, weaving played a significant role in the island’s cultural and economic landscape, translating local narratives of the era into woven writings.
