Beyond Dress codes

The exhibition “Beyond Dress codes” illustrates a progressive dialogue between traditional costumes and contemporary fashion. The costume is designed and handwoven taking inspiration from traditional Greek costumes.

Woven costume, 2012

Hand-woven black and white long cape in heavy felted wool with shaggy strands on the sides. Embellished with a hand-woven trim around the opening.Hand-woven skirt in wool, mohair and cotton fixed to the jacket with wide folds and an opening which is closed by overlapping one fringed side with other.Hand-woven necklace in dyed suede with an engraved silver plate depicting a weaver spinning the silk.
